Restoration Collection target species lists have been recently updated for the 2023 collecting season!
The Dixon National Tallgrass Prairie Seed Bank collection priorities are reflected in our Restoration Species target list, comprising 545 species that are characteristic of common native habitats in the tallgrass prairie region. The goal is to collect seeds of each species from at least one population in each of the 12 ecoregions representing the contiguous tallgrass prairie.
We are looking for botanists throughout the Midwest to help us reach our goal! A stipend of $135 ($140 for priority species) will be awarded for each collection on the target list made on our behalf. We will also cover shipping costs.
Please see the attached spreadsheet for more information about our target species and ecoregions in which collections have been made to date. Click here to download.
