How to search the Science Collections

Select the family, genus, species, country, or any combination of these options, and click on the Search button. You may limit the search results to a particular type of specimen (Herbarium, DNA, or Seed) by selecting Collection Type. To access an individual accession, click the View button on the upper right of the listing to review the full record.

Most records include an interactive map that may be opened by selecting View Google Map. However, we do not disclose the location of species that are rare or threatened.

Generally, a collection consists of multiple samples from a single individual specimen that was collected at single location. In some cases, research collections have multiple samples from a single population.
